CHICAGO

Yesterday, November 28th we went to Chicago, IL. Us and my Mom, Dad, Monica and Andres Felipe, desided to take a drive there, a couple of days before, we went to Milwaukee and Angie was all surprised about the "big city" (little town girl) so we thought of going to a bigger city. So we left home at 9:30 am; on our way there, the kids were watching tv and they were having a good time, when all of a sudden, Santi threw up! I don't know if he got motion sickness from riding in the van and watching tv or if he was sick (he didn't puke after that anymore), so thankfuly we were right by an outlet mall and so we had to go buy him clothes. At the outlet mall my parents bought Nic some Sketchers shoes, I had bought him some shoes the day before and he asked me to put an "S" on them, I asked him why and he said that he really wanted Sketchers so he wanted me to put an S on the shoes so they looked like they were; so at the outlet store there was a sketchers and my parents got him a pair....he was so happy :)
After the outlet store we went to downtown Chicago (Michigan Ave)....Ohh my! it was crazy!!!! sooo many people, so many cars! being that is was a Saturday, holiday weekend and it was 55 degrees outside...it was caos. Scott was really stressed out driving (talk about someone that lives in a little town), people drive really nutty, so we were heading towards the American Girl place, and we found a parking lot. We got the kids out of the van after convincing them that they were safe (even Santi was crying saying that he was scared) and we started walking....wow sooo many people!!! every where was packed; Scott had lots of fun taking pictures though.
The American Girl Place was Awesome, so huge and cute, a little girl's dream...well...maybe their moms too :) all the girls had their dolls; there was a hair salon, a hospital, cafe, restaurant, photo studio, and tons of stuff to buy, but sooo expensive! so Angie had saved money to buy one and she got to buy her doll, it was a neat experience, even though the doll was $100.
After leaving there, we went to the Colombian restaurant (after paying $26 just for parking) we had yummy food, a little piece of my country :)
then we went to IKEA, I had wanted to go there for a long time and we needed to buy bunk beds for the boys so we went there and it was really cool...really huge place and lots of stuff...we got the bunks and got home at 10:30pm...long day, eventfull day but really fun!

Immigration

I just want to write a little about my immigration stuff so I can come back to it in a couple of years and remember about it.
So in October of this year my parents helped me get my immigration paper going again and this month I already had to go get my fingerprints and I also got my appointment with an immigration officer on December 17th at 10:30pm. I am praying that that will be the day I get my recidency...I dream of that day and the day I become a Citizen. This is such an important day that my whole family is taking the day off to go with me and Celebrate afterwards!!!! Tonight I got my work permit card!!!! I am so exited!!!!!

Little dummer boy

Santi LOVES drums, he loves just grabbing two pencils, two sticks, anything and he pretends to play drums on everything. So Scott and I thought of cultivating his talent so between us, my parents and Monica, we got him a real drum set.....he loves it, he plays it every day; I hope that all my headaches some day will be paid off by having a famous Christian drummer :)

I am back!!!

Well my friend Stacy has been yelling at me for a while for not posting anything on the blog, and trully I am thankful that she has otherwise I would just forget about it.
anyway I just decided to write something so I can get going with it again...we'll see if it works.
by the way I just want to write that the other day I was eating a donut and Nic asked me "Mom are you still on a diet????" and I said yes and he said "Well you shouldn't be eating a donut then"....I just couldn't believe that a 4 year old could even relate a me being on a diet and eating donuts.

MMMMMMMM CANDY?????????

Kids, kids, kids.....today nic got a Christmas card from a friend at school, Scott and I where heading out and the kids where staying home while we looked for the living room carpet. Right before we left, Nic showed me this card which had some little thing hanging from it, I didn't pay attention to it. Nic asked if he could open his card, I said yes, he headed downstairs with the rest of the kids and Scott and I took off.
When we got back an hour later, Alex told us that Nic was eating this candy that looked kind of like cinnamon and he said it tasted nasty, Angie proceded to try it and also concluded that it tasted nasty, Alex thought that they were playing with her and that actually the candy was pretty good so she decided to try it and it tasted nasty ideed!!!! after they all had their candy tasting they opened the card and it read "Merry Christmas....I hope you enjoy the air freshener"

Artist?

Santiago loves writing on walls, we have tried to hide every single marker, pen, crayon, pencil... but somehow he seems to find them on places I didn't know we had them and then he runs to write on the walls.
We are working on painting the living room and I am really afraid of his artistic incline after we paint. Today he even wrote on my leather chair with a pen... I hope he grows out of it soon or he might just spend quite some time in the timeout chair or with lots of spankings...
I guess the only good thing that would come out of this is that if he grows up to be an artist then I have proof that he had that in him since he was just one Right??????
I keep thinking on what my mom says "little kids, little problems...big kids, big problems" that is soo true and I have to focus on that!!!!! maybe some day when he gets older I will miss him writing on the walls.
